Forget white suites: the retro bathroom trend is officially having a moment. Thanks to the revival of 1970s-inspired interiors and celebrities embracing daring palettes – like Stacey Solomon’s viral bright orange bathroom renovation – bold bathrooms are making a statement.
Whether you’re interested in redoing your main bathroom or simply adding a bit of much-needed colour to a downstairs cloakroom, here are a few places to look for colourful bathroom suites.
The Bold Bathroom Company is a Hampshire-based business specialising in, you’ve guessed it, bold bathrooms. Their collections come in a wide range of colours from avocado to flamingo pink, with an equally wide range of bathroom designs including Victorian classic, 1930s art deco and 1960s retro. Complete bathroom sets begin at £2,695.
Another simple way of creating a colourful bathroom set is to simply match your toilet seat to your vanity unit. You can then tie this in with photo frames or other features on the walls, to create cohesion across the room without having to buy an entirely new bathroom suite. Burlington Bathrooms have a range of colourful freestanding furniture, which they suggest matching with a mirror and toilet seat.
They also offer a bespoke range, which uses their Edwardian basins and toilets available in a range of colours including Confetti Pink, and can be purchased from Easy Bathrooms.
If it’s a more contemporary look you’re after, Sanctuary Bathrooms offers rimless back-to-wall toilets in a range of unexpected colours, from green to pink, all in a matt finish. They also sell hung basins in the same finish and colour schemes.
Italian designer NIC makes a similarly contemporary range of colourful bathroom units, with wall-hung rimless toilets and accompanying wall-hung bidets in a range of chic muted tones.
If it’s just a statement freestanding bath in a bold colour you’re after, look no further than Lusso’s Avolto Blush concrete freestanding bath.
Green and pink remain the top trending shades, and Harrison Bathrooms also have an olive green suite on sale, featuring a green sink cabinet, green bath surrounds and a green toilet unit.
