Stacey Solomon gives fans a peek inside her enormous new house – and they can’t believe what’s painted on her ensuite walls
TV presenter and mum of five, Stacey, moved last week into a massive new house with husband Joe Swash and their kids. The house, dubbed Project Pickle, is a huge renovation challenge, and on Monday, Stacey gave her Instagram followers a first peek into the main bedroom suite, calling on her 6.1m followers for suggestions and advice on what to do with it.
Inside Stacey Solomon’s enormous new main bedroom
Panning around the massive room, she said, ‘the ceiling height is giving my furniture a real Borrowers look – it makes everything I’ve got look so tiny’, and asked fans for ideas saying she loved it, but didn’t know what to do with all the space. The bedroom was just the start, as the suite also contains an area of built-in wardrobes, a separate dressing room and an enormous ensuite bathroom with a circular sunken bath and walk-in sauna.
Stacey Solomon’s ‘Scarface bathroom’ is seriously impressive
The ensuite is designed in an opulent 1980s style inspired by a Roman bathhouse, with the bath set on a marble plinth and with columns holding up part of the ceiling. Due to its similarities with the bathroom that Al Pacino is shown lounging in during the 1983 film Scarface, Stacey has dubbed it ‘the Scarface bathroom’. ‘This is the craziest, biggest bathroom I have ever seen in my whole, entire life,’ she confided.
The surprising detail Stacey Solomon found in her ensuite
But she saved the biggest surprise till last, panning over to the tiled walls to reveal they are covered in hand-painted pictures ‘of loads of naked people’. Painted life-size in a classical Roman style, the pictures show women bathing and washing their hair with water from urns and a man standing by, wearing a fig leaf. ‘This guy’s got a little leaf to hide his bits, but the girls didn’t get a leaf,’ she says. ‘I don’t know what I’m going to do about the hand-painted nakedness!’
Having already done a big renovation project with her last home, Pickle Cottage, and being famous for taking on a challenge and convincing others that they can get through the hard work needed to turn their homes around, we are sure that Stacey won’t be thwarted by a bit of nakedness. If anyone can make a success of a challenging project like this, it's Stacey. We wish her all the luck!
